Beauty Sleep #2

Don't ask for the reasons but my daily sleeping routine is so messed up that I want to dig a hole and hide myself. To be honest, this is actually my number one beauty rule, yet I can't make myself stick with this rule. o(>д<*)o One time I was in Hongkong and saw that one of my cousins was on the phone every evening at least till 3 o'clock in the morning. Of course, she got up early in the morning to go for work the next day. I wondered how on earth did she manage to live like that? Ironically I find myself doing the same thing with the exception that I don't talk on the phone but tend to read a book or watch errrr..... dramas. Now please don't judge me, it's just that I easily get immersed in something and cannot stop until I know the ending. lol

It doesn't improve my problem that I rediscovered my love for hot water bottles. Boy, you cannot believe how great these are! Liv, mentioned this in her comment when I asked for more tips on how to improve my sleep. I'm a weird person, even though I love to have it warm and cosy I dislike to turn on the heater every night. Of course, the room gets warm but I literally prefer to keep a cool head. A hot water bottle solves all my problems! It's super warm beneath my duvet, yet my head remains cool and I can breathe better since the air doesn't get stuffy at all.

At the beginning I only had one hot water bottle, however, I found another one which I believe is more than 10+ yrs old. But it still works perfectly fine. That's what I call quality made in Germany!(●ゝω・)

Surprisingly I find that the purple hot water bottle which is the older one, btw is in a much better shape than the white one. It looks so yucky and worn out but I don't care as long as it works.

OOTD and hairy things

Hope everyone had a nice CNY!

Even though my family and I don't celebrate this (boo!!!) I still wish everyone a successful year of the dragon! ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ

I got caught up with work and a bunch of other things that piled up. I truly have to work on my time management and abandon my procrastination habit... Seriously. (☆o◎)

Today I will be posting a quick OOTD and share some photos of my hair, because they're super long right now as I haven't been paying attention to it for the few past months. Whenever I get to see my back I'm quite surprised how long my hair actually is....

A very casual outfit that I threw together the other day. Excuse me, I did iron my shirt but the creases just pop up everytime I remove my jacket. sigh. (=ω=。) Sometimes I wonder if I should skip the ironing part altogether when the difference is barely noticeable.

No, I didn't buy that shirt. It was a little bit too sheer for my taste but other than that I really liked it. Feels very comfy. Like I said, I don't get to see my hair from the back so often that's why I didn't notice how long it is already. (・o・)

My normal view is like this:

Weleda Citrus Hand- und Nagelcreme

I usually don't like to splurge on hand creams since the less expensive ones work just as fine. ( ̄◇ ̄) At least I don't really see a huge difference and believe me, I've tried several ones, reasonably priced (e.g. drugstore brands) and pricier ones such as Logona and Dr. Hauschka.

I bought this Weleda Citrus hand cream back in July and honestly, it was more like an emergency purchase since I switched bags and forgot to put a tube of hand cream into my new bag.... There are three things that I absolutely cannot live without:
  1. Lip balm
  2. Tissues
  3. Hand cream
It was my first time buying a hand cream from Weleda. I decided on the green tube (Citrus) since it looked more appealing to me than the Sea Buckthorn hand cream in the orange tube. lol (●ゝ∀・●)

And now let me tell you that I absolutely love the smell!! It's so refreshing and lemon-ish! Very suitable for summer.

However, the texture isn't really enjoyable when it is hot... because the cream itself is super rich and it leaves such a thick feeling afterwards. It's like your hands are covered in creamy butter. Needless to say that it will leave marks on everything that you touch since the texture is so rich it doesn't get easily absorbed into your skin. ( ̄∧ ̄) Moreover, I'd even say that it feels kind of sticky, too. But surprisingly the cream does spread really well due to the amount of Sweet Almond Oil in it. After application your hands feel hydrated and extremely nourished with a very glossy finish. Yes, it sounds weird but the truth is that your hands are shiny. I tried to capture this effect with my camera. Hope you can see it properly? (///ω///)

Water (Aqua), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Lanolin, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Viola Tricolor Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Limonene*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Citral*. * from natural essential oils

I must apologize for the ugly and worn out looks but I've dropped it more than one time and the tube is made of aluminium due to hygienic reasons so it will end up looking ugly sooner or later. Personally I'm not a huge fan of aluminium packaging since it's so difficult to squeeze out the remaining product inside when there's only a minimum left. (≧・≦)

If I remember correctly I paid something between 6-8 EUR for a tube containing 50 ml. Actually I forgot the price since I purchased this last summer so please bear with me.

I guess one tube should last you at least a couple of months if used on a regular basis. Since the texture is extremely thick and rich I only like to use this in the winter when my hands are dry and chapped.

Like the usual, all Weleda beauty products don't contain any synthetic fragrances, synthetic preservatives or other harmful chemicals. They promise that the ingredients are all natural.

    Swollen eyelids....

In my facial asymmetry post I mentioned that I have different eye shapes. Under normal circumstances the crease on my right eye isn't as high as on the left side, making the entire eye seem a lot smaller. However, one day (about 1-2 weeks ago) I woke up with swollen eyes, actually only the right one was swollen. No, I did not cry my eyes out over stupid things. In fact I didn't cry at all, perhaps I went to bed a bit... uhm.. late. (σ-`д・´)

Okay, so I ended up having a higher crease on the right eye, both eyes started to look more evenly but it was slightly uncomfortable for me since I felt how swollen my eye was by every blink. Very irritating. Now I do understand that it's little bit hard for non-Asian to comprehend the entire situation because they have different eye shapes....

Uhm excuse me for the super dark circles under my eyes. You could tell that I didn't sleep well enough. It took me like 2-3 days until everything was back to normal. Of course, the right eye looks smaller again but I seriously don't mind as the eyelid now folds the usual way so nothing feels weird anymore. (*・∀-)

Now the bad thing is that my left eye has been weird since Friday.... sigh. (ー△ー;)

It is so super uncomfortable and annoying at the same time. Of course, I admit that it makes my left eye appear bigger than it usually does but still, I don't like the feeling of my eyes being swollen. Just for comparison, this is how the crease on my left eye normally looks like.

I know that Asians are obsessed with the entire crease thing (double eyelids) but I can tell from personal experiences that it does make a huge difference if the crease is higher just by a few millimeters or not.... It looks so much better but it doesn't equally mean it's more comfortable that way. (±∀±;)

    My first OOTD

Wow... I've finally made it! This is actually my first Saturday in a very long while that I'm not busy running errands and such. Okay I lied, I did go groceries shopping in the afternoon and while I've been at it, also restocked on some icecream.... (And I wanted to eat more healthy....)

I must say that 2012 doesn't start great for me. Reality hit me again since I find that work load never seems to decrease. That's when I decided it's about time to think about vacation. I need a break or I have no idea how to survive this year. lol (*TωT)It's ridiculous that I find myself somehow... looking forward to my up-coming surgery. Of course, I'm still scared whenever I think about it but hopefully I will be able to have some rest at home afterwards.

With that being said, let's move on.

Today just want to share an outfit of the day post! It's my first one and sorry for the terrible lighting. I wonder why some people are able to take high quality pictures using their phones.... while I obviously fail at it....

    First day in 2012

A new year means a fresh new start in everything.

However, it doesn't start great for me to be honest. I slept in and woke up pretty late... with a  headache. Plus it was raining outside and things that need to be done are piling up. ヾ(*д*)ノ゛I must iron my clothes (huge pile, btw) today or I won't have anything decent to wear for work tomorrow. *sigh*

The same to my eyeliner brushes. I have five of these in use, but they're all dirty at the moment. As to my other make up brushes, I'm kinda ashamed to admit that the only reason why I haven't been wearing blush for over a month is that all my brushes need some cleaning. Hey, please don't give me that look. (−o−) I know it sounds kind of.... nasty that I had been keeping my dirty brushes for over a month. Yes, I'm a lazy bum. The good thing is that I'm going to change it. TODAY. (-∀-。)
